Seaweed in Clothes?

lululemon.jpg
Its a fashion trend that has taken Canada and parts of the U.S. by storm, and it also become identified with a work out class that has taken over the world. So what am I talking about? The work out, yoga, the fashion trend, lululemon.  For those of you who have not heard of lululemon , it is a clothing company directly associated with yoga and is known for providing stylish, comfortable/tight fitting, athletic clothing.
So what exactly is the issue? Well this Vancouver-based company gone national, have prided their business on quality and style. There is even a tag on some of lulu’s items expressing that the clothing: reduces stress, keeps skin tight and smooth, and reduces skin rashes, but what magic ingredient in lulu’s clothes makes this possible. Well apparently, the all natural product of seaweed in their clothes makes this possible. However, just recently an anonymous invester took the seaweed containing product in for tests, which revealed no such material. This was then released to the New York Times who did a second test, and came to the same conclusion. No seaweed! This caused a daily decrease of the stock which was recovered the next day, but everyone is starting to question, is this company really providing products with organic, natural seaweed in them. Lululemon responded with a public statement you can find here, but I’m sure this is not the last we will hear of this issue. So for future reference, if your going to try and buy some organic or environmentally friendly clothing, mabey do some research or consider some of the companies we have talked about on this site.       Keep it Green,Paul
