There is a very interesting piece of news that I am hoping to hear more about. With the talk about electric cars, energy reform, yada yada…the major problem that needs to be addressed these days is how to change where we get our energy from. It is becoming quite evident that there will be no single answer, that our energy must come from a variety of sources; wind, solar, geo thermal etc. So who’s throwing in their hat to start up these new energy copmanies?
Its becoming more and more a Google world. Now as of right now this is merely speculation, but it appears that Google may be entering the utility market. On December 16, Google created a subsidiary called Google Energy. This week, Google filed a formal request to the FERC, the federal agency that oversees the US grid, to buy and sell wholesale energy. A spokeswoman has explained that this is merely for the ability to purchase efficient and renewable energy for their own operations. But do you reallyy think that’s the only reason?
Keep it green,
Evan
