Canadian ideas for greener living

Intel Flips the Home Energy Switch

At the recent 2010 Consumer Electronic Show Intel presented a new and exciting home energy management concept that allows users to keep a track of their household’s monthly energy consumption. The features that are included with this concept product are leaving video memos for other family members, a “goodbye” switch that instantly configures all appliances to their least consumptive setting, along with reminding the user if they have left the stove on.

Now this isn’t entirely a new concept, but Intel is a respected electronics company and that have brought some style to idea as well. The product is a wall mounted system that is a Wi-Fi and ZigBee-enabled 11.5” touchscreen dashboard, check that out! Anyways, a cool product and idea. Good to see Intel is making some green moves, I hope to hear more of this concept becoming a reality.

Keep it Green,

Evan

That rss feature on your site here is impressive, you should tell people about it in your upcoming post. I haven’t noticed it a first, now I’m using it every morning to check on any updates. I’m on a really slow dial-up connection in Alabama and it’s quite baffling to sit there and wait for such a long time ’til the page loads… but hey, I just found your rss page and added it to the Google Reader and voil? – I’m always up-to-date! Well buddy, keep up the good work and make that rss button a little bigger so that other people can enjoy that as well :-P
