Canadian ideas for greener living

Carpool to Vote Tomorrow

Well tomorrow is the day, the day where the next president of the United States of America will be decided. Now I am not going to tell you who you should vote for, but you better be voting. Once again it is a close race between both candidates and every vote counts. If you haven’t already seen it, then this is a great video that says it all:

So now that you are going to vote, why not make it a greener vote this year and carpool to the polls? Check out the Carpool to the Polls, either to find a ride or offer yours to others, and if you don’t know where your polling station is, you can use this Google Maps voting tool that will automatically tell you if you give it your home address. In addition to this there is also a Facebook application, which you can learn more about here. So when you go out to vote tomorrow, try to make sure its just not you in the car.

Neil Young and 100 MPG

When Neil Young comes to mind, I can only think of one word to describe him…legend! The guy has been rocking for decades, has made hit after hit, dedicated a whole CD to taking on the Bush Administration, an environmentalist, the list simply does not end.

As you may or may not know, for some time now Neil has been working on a way to convert his old 1959 Lincoln into a green machine. Neil has set out to achieve the aggressive target of 100 MPG and win the Automotive X-Prize. Not bad, but can it be achieved?

A lot of information is on the LincVolt website and on the LincVolt youtube channel and he has proclaimed that any progress and knowledge that is learned during his conversion, will be publicly shared to better the automotive industry. What a guy! You can click here to learn more about what Neil has to say.

Keep it Green,

Paul
